Man shot and killed at an apartment complex in Matthews

Matthews Police responded to Paces Pointe Apartments just after 1 a.m. Saturday regarding reports of a man shot.

MATTHEWS, N.C. — A man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in Matthews early Saturday morning, police said.

Matthews Police responded to Paces Pointe Apartments just after 1 a.m. Saturday regarding reports of a man shot.

When officers arrive to the scene they found 20-year-old Jonathan Swierski unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said Medic arrived and pronounced Swierski dead at the scene.

Matthews Police report the shooting was an isolated incident that stemmed from an argument between known parties.

Police did not release any suspect information and at this time no charges have been filed.
