Man shot in leg during overnight robbery in east Charlotte

According to police, it appears the shooting happened when two men robbed the Corner Mart convenience store.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a shooting that happened in east Charlotte early Sunday morning. 

Police were called to the 2100 block of Eastway Drive after 1 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived to the location they found a male victim who had been shot in the leg.

He was transported to the hospital by MEDIC where he is expected to be okay.

According to police, it appears the shooting happened when two men robbed the Corner Mart convenience store.

The victim was working at the store when he was shot, police say.

No other employees or customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.

No arrests have been made in this case at this time.
