Matthews gas station robbed at gunpoint

The store clerk told officials that a man entered the store pointing a gun at him and demanded money from the cash register.

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Officers with the Matthews Police Department responded to an armed robbery report that occurred at the Circle K located in the 3000 block of Matthews Mint Hill Road on Friday, December 7, at approximately 12:28 a.m.

The store clerk told officials that a man entered the store pointing a gun at him and demanded money from the cash register.

The man was described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds and wearing a black hoodie, black track pants and a red do-rag over his mouth. He was last seen fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported from this incident.

Matthews Police is asking for help identifying two witnesses who had come into the store prior to this incident, in hopes that they have additional information. The witnesses are pictured below.
