Teenager dead after shooting in southeast Charlotte

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed it was working the scene of a homicide investigation Sunday night. 

According to a release from the department, detectives are investigating in the 900 block of North Wendover Road. 

Investigators reportedly made it to the scene just after 8:30 p.m. 

Medic arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. CMPD confirmed the victim's identify as Jaavion Blackmon, 18.
