2 arrested in January killing of juvenile in Mount Holly

The unnamed juvenile was found lying in a driveway outside a home on Gander Way.

MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. — Two young people were arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in Mount Holly, according to the Mount Holly Police Department.

On January 18, 2024, Mount Holly Police responded to a shooting at a home on Gander Way, which is just off Lowland Dairy Road and Sandy Ford Road, around 11:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile male lying in the driveway of a home who had been shot. Paramedics arrived a short time later and continued life-saving measures but the juvenile died at the scene.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim. 

According to a release, officers located and arrested a juvenile in connection to the murder on Monday, April 22. D’Majay Micheal Robinson, 18, was arrested on Thursday, April 18. Both are charged with first-degree murder. 

“These arrests are a testament to the tireless work of law enforcement,” Mt. Holly Police Chief Brian Reagan said. “We extend our gratitude to the U.S. Marshals, Gaston County Crime Scene Investigators, and the CMPD Crime Scene Investigators for their invaluable assistance in bringing closure to this tragic case. Our hearts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.”
