CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Multiple agencies were called to reports of a possible water rescue in south Charlotte Friday afternoon.
The scene was just around the corner from a confirmed shooting on Shady Oak Trail, according to Medic. WCNC Charlotte crews at the scene saw multiple Charlotte Fire Department units staged in the area, including boat crews.
Medic confirmed one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after the shooting. It's unclear if the two incidents are connected, but WCNC Charlotte crews said boat crews were using sonar to apparently search the water for something. Authorities would not confirm what they were looking for.
Crime scene tape was put up in the parking lot of the Quail Run Condominiums along Lake House Lane for the investigation. Several Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police cruisers were also parked at the scene.
No arrests have been made at this time, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
