Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students will make up days missed because of the winter storm and Hurricane Michael in the new year.
Superintendent Dr. Clayton Wilcox made the announcement Tuesday night at the school board meeting.
Schools have extra hours in their calendars to alleviate snow and weather-related days, but severe weather this year has caused schools to use up days quicker than planned.
January 22, 2019, will be the makeup day for schools that closed on December 11, 2018, because of weather.
Butler High make-up day will not be Jan. 22, 2019 as previously announced. A new date and further details for Butler High School will be announced soon. On this yet-to-be announced future date, Butler High School students, families, staff and supporters plan to learn together during a shared campus teach-in and other special events that will lift up the strength of the Butler community.
All CMS schools were closed on December 10, 2018; that day was waived.
