After investigating the crash, officials established that a pedestrian ran into traffic on I-85 and was hit by a white Nissan Altima that was headed north on I-85. The vehicle pulled over and stopped in the right lane and the pedestrian died at the scene.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area due to heavy traffic caused by the crash and lane closures. The crash was cleared around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

This crash remains under investigation.

The deadly crash involving a pedestrian happened just hours after a 3-year-old was hit and killed by a Freightliner tractor-trailer while crossing Brookshire Boulevard with two other pedestrians.
