PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Police in Pineville are investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday night.
The Pineville Police Department responded to a call of a shooting on Pine Acres Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found 22-year-old Nikidrien Bailey with an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Police said a suspect is in custody but did not release their identity.
Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation. Police said the suspect and the deceased man, who has not been identified, knew each other.
