Pair of kids expected to be OK after car hits them during trick-or-treating, Monroe police say

It happened around 8 p.m.

MONROE, N.C. — The Monroe Police Department said a pair of kids were hit by a car while trick-or-treating, but should be OK.

Officers said the kids, aged 5 and 10 years old, were hit along Lancaster Avenue near Branch Street. They were taken to a nearby hospital.

The department told WCNC Charlotte both kids are expected to be OK. The driver also remained at the scene according to officers.

The incident remains under investigation. No further details were provided.
