Auto plastics manufacturer investing millions for new Gaston County facility

The facility will be run by HEYCO-Werk USA Inc. and will create jobs for 34 people.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A new production site is headed for Gaston County that will create dozens of jobs.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced Thursday HEYCO-Werk USA Inc., a plastics injection molder for the automotive industry, will be building a manufacturing site in Gaston County.

The company will invest over $12 million in the facility, according to a press release. The site will host 34 new jobs for Gaston County.

HEYCO-Werk creates products for all BMW SUVs and other European car manufacturers.

We are thrilled to expand our manufacturing footprint to North Carolina and join the close network of German-based manufacturers in the region. The new plant will play an important strategic role within the HEYCO Group and to our customers,” Daniel Dittmar, CEO & President of HEYCO-Werk USA, said in the release.

The One North Carolina Fund provided a $75,000 performance-based grant to HEYCO-Werk to build the production site.

“HEYCO is another great addition to our growing auto manufacturing supply chain that will attract even more companies and jobs,” said Governor Cooper. “This project in Gaston County and others like it across our state confirm North Carolina’s dedication to a world-class workforce, innovation, and access to global markets.”
