Riders will have to hop on a CATS bus bridge, which is the CityLYNX Connector.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CATS announced that the Gold Line streetcar service will stop, starting Monday, to finish construction of the Gold Line Phase 2 project.

Riders will have to hop on a CATS bus bridge, which is the CityLYNX Connector.

The CityLYNX Connector will travel to and from Bay V at the Transit Center in uptown and the area near Novant Medical Center.

The plan for Phase 2 construction is to extend the service 2.5 miles east and west of the current line. They will are also be adding 11 stops.

Phase 2 should be complete and running next year, but the CATS director also said the streetcar project could be delayed six months because of the 2020 Republican National Convention.

The following routes will experience modifications:

  • Route 13 Nevin Road
  • Route 15 Randolph Road, Route 19 Park Road
