Who will move on to the final round? Check out below!

Game of the Week: Weddington vs. Independence

Big I traveling to Big Dub for a trip to the 4A state championship game. The Weddington Warriors hosted the Indpendence Patriots, who have been true road warriors, winning four-straight road playoff games to get to this point.

Independence had an early lead but late in the first Weddington QB Tyler Budge refused to go down, dragging a pile in for a rushing touchdown to make it 13-7, Weddington.

The Patriots defense has been a force to be reckoned with, and Skyler Murray showed it by stripping the ball right from a Weddington back, but Independence could not cash in with points.

The Warriors took over in the third quarter, as the rain came pouring down, scoring touchdowns on the ground from Budge and Nick Diamond to make it 27-7.

But the Patriots stuck around, Camden Martin ran in for a score to make it 27-14.

Then, coach DJ McFadden called for an onside kick, which Independence's special teams executed perfectly, but Weddington held.

The Warriors put the game away on another Diamond touchdown.

They will face Hoggard next Saturday night in Raleigh for the state championship.

Hickory will face Seventy-First in Friday's 3A championship game after beating Dudley, 42-41.
