Carolina Panthers welcomed Chancellor Lee and Saundra Adams

The Panthers hosted former player Rae Carruth's son at today's game, days after Carruth was released from prison. Carruth spent the last 19 years behind bars for conspiring to kill the mother of his then unborn child.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers welcomed Chancellor Lee Adams and his grandmother, Saundra Adams, on the field before the Panthers squared off against the Baltimore Ravens on October 28.

While players warmed up, many made time to stop by and talk to the Adamses. Panthers center Ryan Kalil gave Chancellor a football, while safety Eric Reid stopped by to greet them and give Chancellor Lee his gloves.

"That family's been through a lot," Reid said. "I just wanted to just give him my gloves, I mean, I feel for him. I feel for his grandmother and what they've been through. It's a terrible, terrible situation. So I just wanted to go over there, give him a hug and just spend a little time with him."

Panthers owner David Tepper also paid Chancellor and Saundra a visit while they were on the sidelines.

While the two have attended a game before, it was the Adamses first time on the sidelines at Bank of America Stadium.
