Panthers sign offensive lineman to $100 million contract, reports say

Veteran offensive guard Robert Hunt has reportedly signed a five-year, $100 million contract with the Panthers.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers took a big step toward protecting quarterback Bryce Young on Monday, signing free agent offensive tackle Robert Hunt, according to multiple reports.

Hunt spent the first five seasons of his career with the Miami Dolphins. Hunt's contract with the Panthers will be for five years and $100 million, according to a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo

Offensive line was a huge problem for Carolina last season as Bryce Young was sacked 62 times, second-most in the NFL. Hunt, who has started 55 games since entering the league in 2020, will be a pivotal part of Carolina's lineup moving forward.

The signing comes on the heels of Bradley Bozeman's release. The veteran center had just finished the first year of a three-year contract and has been heavily involved in the Charlotte community since signing with the Panthers in 2022.

The Panthers also re-signed veteran defensive back Troy Hill on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports. The veteran defensive back played multiple positions for the team, which will look to add another cornerback via free agency or the draft with the anticipated release or trade of Donte Jackson.
