1 person hurt in school bus crash on I-77

Mecklenburg EMS said one person is being treated for serious injuries.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a school bus crash on Interstate 77 in north Charlotte Friday morning. 

It happened near the exit for La Salle Street, which is just south of the interchange with Interstate 85. The crash happened a little before 7 a.m. and multiple lanes were shut down while crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash. 

All lanes of I-77 were reopened by 9 a.m.

It's one of two crashes involving buses impacting traffic in Charlotte Friday morning. An SUV and a CATS bus were involved in a collision in the area of Central Avenue and Longfellow Street, closing a lane in response. That road has since reopened.
