CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing the road in Salisbury early Thursday morning, detectives confirmed.
Salisbury Police and Rowan County EMS responded to a crash along Jake Alexander Boulevard West near a Speedway gas station around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. When officers got to the area, they found 42-year-old David Michael House lying in the road. He died at the scene despite life-saving efforts from paramedics.
A witness told WCNC Charlotte that House was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a vehicle. No other information has been released by investigators. It's unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
