Black ice, winter weather cause tough road conditions

On Monday, December 10, accidents caused other fender benders, cars overturned, cars ran into snow and more.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There have been multiple accidents in the Carolinas since the Winter Storm moved in over the weekend.

On Monday, December 10, accidents caused other fender benders, cars overturned, cars ran into snow and more.

Black ice forming overnight will only make road conditions worse, causing officials to recommend staying off the road if you don't need to travel.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a Tuckaseegee Road crash that took down a power pole.

Just after 9 p.m., medic and police responded to a vehicular accident call on the 3600 block of Tuckaseegee Road. The pole was knocked down, and the road was blocked.

Duke Power will respond to fix it, but no word on how long that will take.

WCNC will update this as more information becomes available.
