Homicide investigation underway in southeast Charlotte

Officers are at the scene investigating the homicide on Monday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was shot and killed in southeast Charlotte Monday evening, police said. 

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers were called to a reported shooting near the intersection of Marvi Road and Wendover Road around 7:20 p.m. When officers got to the area, they found a man who had been shot. 

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Taveon Deprea Jones, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
