SALISBURY, N.C. — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot to death in Salisbury on Saturday evening, the Salisbury Police Department confirms.
According to police, the shooting happened in the 600 block of W. Kerr Street.
Police said 71-year-old Emerson Truitt Roebuck was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Roebuck was transported to Novant Health Rowan but later died from his injuries.
Salisbury Police Criminal Investigations and the NCSBI responded to the crime scene and began their investigation.
This is the City of Salisbury’s second homicide of the year.
