1 dead in northeast Charlotte shooting, CMPD says

The shooting happened late Sunday afternoon.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead after a shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in northeast Charlotte.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the shooting happened near University City Boulevard in the University City area of Charlotte.

Officers who arrived on the scene found a man who had been shot. Medic pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim was later identified by police as 25-year-old Kedrick Brown. No word on if any suspects have been identified at this time.
