Contractor sues City of Charlotte, claims they weren't paid for airport runway work

Thalle Construction is seeking at least $25,000 in damages.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A contractor is suing the City of Charlotte, claiming it wasn't paid for work completed at the Charlotte Douglas Airport.

Thalle Construction Company originally filed the lawsuit in Orange County in March, but the lawsuit has been transferred to Mecklenburg County.

According to court documents, Thalle is suing the city under three counts: breach of contract, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing and unjust enrichment.

The complaint alleges that the city failed to compensate Thalle for airport runway work that was completed according to the contract that was agreed upon by both parties. This includes the failure to pay Thalle for "increased costs and contract time associated with differing site conditions" and "increased costs resulting from dramatic and unforeseeable increases" in gas prices and labor costs.

Thalle is seeking at least $25,000 in damages.
