CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Officials with the Wells Fargo Championship announced Tuesday that PGA veteran Phil Mickelson has committed to playing in the Charlotte tournament.
Mickelson's appearance will be his 15th start in the Wells Fargo Championship and he's still chasing his first win. Mickelson was runner-up in 2010 and has a pair of third- and fourth-place finishes, each. He's made the cut a tournament record 14 times in 15 attempts.
"We are delighted that Phil will be joining us once again as we return to Charlotte this year," said Wells Fargo Championship director Gary Sobba. "He has supported and praised our tournament throughout the years and I know he wants to add the Wells Fargo Championship to his list of career titles."
The five-time major championship winner already has one win under his belt in 2018 after winning the World Golf Championships—Mexico Championship.
