According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, 41-year-old Kehlan Johnson is charged with murder in connection with the death of 20-year-old Darnel Mills. Mills was found shot beside a car on East WT Harris Bouelvard near the intersection of Duncroft Lane on October 21. He was rush to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"There was a gold car and the hazard lights were on," she said. "There was a man laying down beside it. It looked like he had been in an accident or shot or something, but he was laying there and wasn't moving or anything, so a few cars started stopping."
Investigators said that Johnson ran from the scene after the shooting. He was arrested on October 25 and charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
